Topic: Some customers say they need a similar problem with their Honda cars. After changing spark plugs or changing the new battery, the first VSA red light comes on as soon as start the engine and remains on. For this problem, foxwelleshop.com engineer has found an honest method to reset the VSA light and indicator using Foxwell scanner.
Tips and guide to show off VSA light:
Many Honda and Acura cars have the VSA systems, and if they'll explode if the vehicle goes into a spin if the front wheels move but not the rear wheels. during this case, this vehicle struck a curb very hard to crack the front cross member or the subframe. So we’re just catching up and turning off the sunshine quickly. you'll attempt to close up the sunshine with the switch to the VSA switch. Now we'd like to reset the system to perform the test. knowledgeable and cheap Foxwell scan tool is required like Foxwell NT530 BMW, NT650 Elite Foxwell, etc.
Step-by-step guide:
The device used is Foxwell NT630 Plus. But the guide applies to all Foxwell OBD2 scanners which supports the same function.
1.Plug the diagnostic cable of Foxwell scanner into the vehicle
2.The car is not running though I have the ignition key to the on position, that’s the Roman numeral number two on the ignition system you see. So just have the system on and go to scan the system.
3.The scan tool does not use an external battery source.
4.If this is your first time use, please visit Foxwell official website https://www.foxwelltech.us to create a user ID and password so that you can download the latest software.
5.Select “ABS& Airbag”-> “Asia”-> “Acura” or other car model-> “Smart VIN”
Note: When you perform this test, make sure the vehicle is level and the wheels are straight because it’s going to reset the entire system.
6.There are four different options that can be found yourself:
- Quick Scan
- Control Modules
- Vehicle Details
- SCS
We can select “Quick Scan” to scan the system to delete the code
7.Read the instruction on the screen carefully and then wait for system scanning.
8.It not only checks the brakes but also the stability control and the airbag system.
There is a fault in the VSA, so we need to erase it first.
Though every scan tool is a little bit different, you also have to go through these different menus just to figure everything out.
9.Go to “Control Modules”-> “Anti- lock brake/ traction control/ vehicle stability auxiliary control system (ABS/ TCS/ VSA)”
ABS/ VSA Control Unit will quit communication about 50km/h (29MPH) above.
10.Then select “Special Functions”-> “ALL SENSORS”
After replacing the VSA control unit or sensor cluster, do the neutral position memorization procedure for all sensors- Steering Angle Sensor, Brake Pressure Sensor and Lateral G Sensor.
Pay attention to the test conditions:
- No DTC except for 84-1 is stored in the VSA control unit.
- The engine is stopped.
- The vehicle must be level and foot off brake pedal.
- Steering should be straight ahead.
- The brake pedal is not pressed.
11.Start the neutral memorization procedure
- Gear in P position or gear in N position and apply the parking brake
- IG ON and start the engine
- Turn the steering wheel lock to lock, check for the smooth operation of the steering
- Keep the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and drive the vehicle in a straight line for more than 3 meters
- Stop the vehicle on a level surface
12.After that, the operation has been successful.
13.Turn the ignition off, if we can actually control this now, there you go that’s all fantastic, let’s quickly test it.
Awesome! So it’s completely controlled and that’s how you can go ahead and delete the VSA activation light.
